CSS and CDM Smith formed a Joint Venture this past April in order to pursue work providing science support to EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs. This JV brought together CDM Smith's experience and expertise in the area of environmental fate and ecotoxicity along with our own expertise and experience reviewing pesticide toxicology data and residue chemistry data that is used to assess pesticide residues in food, water and livestock. We have provided science support to OPP in the area of pesticide regulation continually since 1982, making them one of our oldest clients. In mid-July, we received notice that the CDM Smith/CSS JV was one of three awardees on a multiple award ID/IQ contract for "Technical Support for the Assessment of Pesticide Regulatory Activities" (EP-W-16-018), which is a 5-year contract with a maximum potential value of $20 million. In conjunction with the RFP for the main contract, EPA requested proposals for three task orders (TOs) under this contract. As of August 1, we received notification from EPA that the JV had won all three task orders, which will run over 5 years and have a combined value of $18 million. The TOs are for review of pesticide environmental fate and ecotoxicity data (TO1), residue chemistry data (TO2), and toxicology data (TO3).
